SPANISH FOR THE CAMINO MEMBERSHIP
The only Spanish membership that focuses on your Camino needs
Enjoy a more meaningful and relaxed Camino de Santiago
You’re on the Camino.
You stop at a café for second breakfast and join the queue at the bar to place your order.
The person in front of you is struggling to make themselves understood.
They’re getting more and more frustrated.
So, what does this person do?
Shout their order louder and louder. And get angry at the server because they don’t understand.
But why should servers understand?
You are the one visiting. You can’t expect everyone to understand you. You’re in for a very frustrating experience if you think things work like at home and everyone will understand you.
❌ You stand the risk of becoming the loud pilgrim who spends most of their Camino feeling frustrated and shouting at Spaniards.
❌ You might also cause yourself unnecessary stress. What if you need help and nobody speaks English? What if you need to talk to someone in Spanish to get access to your accommodation? What if…?
I know you’d rather…
Feel relaxed and independent. No need to find people who can translate for you. Your phone’s battery died? No problem! You can do a better job than Google Translate!
Be respectful, get a better response from people and connect more. The locals will go out of their way to help you when they see you’re making the effort to speak Spanish. It doesn’t matter how limited your Spanish is. It’s the effort that counts.
Help someone else communicate when they need it. You’ve just become a Camino angel!
By making the effort to speak even only a few words of Spanish, you’re giving yourself wonderful opportunities to enrich your Camino experience. From knowing what’s going on around you, to being able to communicate your needs, connecting with the locals, expanding your horizons…
So, don’t be like that loud pilgrim, ¡por favor! Be a respectful and caring pilgrim instead.

Testimonials
The membership is tailored to give a person the language they need to enjoy the Camino so much more, because they will be able to communicate, in a simple way, with the people they meet as they walk, and show respect to their hosts.
Mi favourite part was María’s understanding of the language we would need for the Camino, and how effectively she teaches it. Her awareness of the aspects of Spanish that might be difficult for an English speaker is very helpful, as she explained these aspects very clearly.
An excellent program for learning the essential Spanish you want to know when you are walking the Camino in Spain. It has very Camino specific workbooks and very helpful Zooms, plus other resources.
My favourite part was the Zoom sessions where María explained so much that is not written down anywhere.
I really find your materials the most deeply educational and have found that when I spend the time reviewing and using the processes you suggest I gain better understanding that will serve me in the long run rather than just memorizing. I do sense I am laying a good foundation. I thank you for all your materials, it is even a user-friendly method for a self-learner.
